Praying Through Ephesians

Praying Through Ephesians

Chapter 1

Blessed are You oh God, the Father of my Lord Jesus Christ. You have blessed me with
every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. You chose me in Him before the
foundation of the world, that I would be holy and blameless before You. In Your Love,
You predestined me to adoption as a son through Jesus Christ to Yourself, according to
the kind intention of Your will.

I praise the glory of Your grace which You have freely bestowed upon me in the Beloved
Jesus Christ. In Christ I have the redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of my
trespasses, according to the riches of Your grace which You have lavished on me.
In all Your wisdom and insight, You have made known to me the mystery of Your will,
according to Your kind intention which You purposed in Jesus with Your viewpoint and
administration that was suitable to the fulness of times in summing up of all things in
Christ to the praise of Your glory oh God my Father!
For this reason, I too with all my brothers and sisters in Christ, will not cease to give You
thanks and make mention of them in my prayers that You, the God of our Lord Jesus
Christ would give to us a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of You, oh
God and that the eyes of our hearts would be enlightened, so that we will know what is
the hope of Your calling, what are the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the
saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe. I
thank You that these are in accordance with the working of the strength of Your might
which You brought about in Christ, when You raised Him from the dead and seated Him
at Your right hand in the heavenly places, far above rule and authority and power and
dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to
come. You put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as the head over all
things to us, the church, which is His body, the fulness of Him who fills all in all – AMEN!

Chapter 2

I was dead in my trespasses and sins, in which I formerly walked according to the
course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is
now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them I too formerly lived in the lust of
my flesh and of the mind, and I was by nature a child of wrath even as the rest. But You,
Oh God, being rich in mercy, because of Your great love with which You loved me, even
when I was dead in my transgressions, You made me alive together with Christ and
raised me up with Him and seated me with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
so that in the ages to come You might show the surpassing riches of Your grace toward
me in Christ Jesus.
For it is by grace that I have been saved through faith; and that not of myself, it is Your
gift Oh God; not as a result of my works so that I have no reason to boast. For I am Your
workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which You prepared beforehand
so that I would walk in them – Hallelujah!
Therefore I will remember that formerly as a gentile in the flesh, who was called
“Uncircumcision” by the so called “Circumcision”, which is performed in the flesh by
human hands and was separated from Christ, I was excluded from the commonwealth
of Israel, and a stranger to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God
in the world. – Selah
But now, in my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I, who was formerly afar off, has been
brought near by the blood of Christ. For Jesus Himself is my peace, who made both
groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, by abolishing in His
flesh the enmity, which is the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in
Himself He made the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, and reconciled
them both in one body to You, Oh God, through the cross, by it having put to death the
Jesus came and preached Peace to me, when I was far away, and Peace to those who
were near; for through Him I have access with my brothers and sisters in one Spirit to
You our Father, so now I am no longer a stranger or alien, but I am a fellow citizen with
the saints and I am of Your household, having been built on the foundation of the
apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole
building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom I also
am being built together with them, growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom I also
am being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.

Chapter 3

Father, I thank You for raising up the Apostle Paul and all that he suffered for the sake of
me as a Gentile and that I have heard through Your Word of the stewardship of you
grace that was given to him by revelation of the mystery of Christ, which in other
generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to
Your holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit. I thank You that I, as a Gentile, am a
fellow heir and fellow member of the body, and a fellow partaker of the promise of Christ
Jesus through the gospel, and now as a minister, according to the gift of Your grace and
the working of Your power, even as the Apostle Paul received, calling himself the least
of all the saints, I too want to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery
which for all ages has been hidden in You, Oh God who created all things so that Your
manifold wisdom is now being made known through the church to the rulers and the
authorities in the heavenly places. All this was in accordance with Your eternal purpose
which You carried out in Christ Jesus my Lord in whom I have boldness and confident
access through faith in Him. So Father, help me not to lose heart in the tribulations that I
or any of my brothers and sisters encounter, knowing that they are for the glory that we
share in Christ Jesus.
Father, today I bow my knees before You, from whom every family in heaven and on
earth derives its name, and ask that You would grant me, according to the riches of Your
glory, to be strengthened with power through Your Spirit in my inner man, so that Christ
may dwell in my heart through faith; and that I would be rooted and grounded in love
and may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth, and length and
height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that I may
be filled up to all the fullness of You, Oh God my Father – Amen!
I give all glory and honor to You Father because You are able to do far more abundantly
beyond all that I ask or think, according to Your power that works in me, to You be the
glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever – Amen!

Chapter 4

Father, I want to walk in a manner that is worthy of the calling with which I have been
called. Fill me with Your Spirit that I may walk in humility and gentleness, with patience
and willingness to show tolerance for others in love. Empower me to show diligence in
preserving the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Father, I believe in one body and one Spirit and that I have been called in one hope,
one Lord, one faith, one baptism and that You are the one and only God and Father of
all who is over all and through all and in all – Amen!
I thank You that Jesus Ascended on High and He led Captive a Host of Captives, and
He gave Gifts to Men. He also descended into the lower parts of the earth and
ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.
Thank You that He gave some to be apostles, and some as prophets, and some as
evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the
work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ until we all attain to the unity of
the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of
the stature that belongs to the fullness of Christ.
Father, because of this, I don’t want to be a child who is tossed here and there by
waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness
in deceitful scheming; but instead I want to speak the truth in love and grow up in all
aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted
and held together by what every joint supplies, and according to the proper working of
each individual part, causing the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love –
Help me to be a healthy working part of the body oh Lord!
Father, help me to no longer walk in the futility of my mind or in ignorance by the
hardening of my heart or become callous by giving myself up to sensuality for the
practice of every kind of impurity with greediness. Instead, help me to learn of Christ, to
hear Him and to be taught by Him in the truth that is in Jesus.
Father today, I lay aside my old self and former manner of life, which is being corrupted
in accordance with the lusts of deceit and I will to be renewed in the spirit of my mind
and I will put on the new self, which is in the likeness of You, my God, and which has
been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth!
I will lay aside all falsehood and speak truth to my neighbor because I am a member
with each one of them in Christ’s body. Let my anger be in righteousness without sin
and not in the anger of men that always leads to sin. Help me Lord to never let the sun
go down on my anger and to not give the devil an opportunity. Instead, help me to
pursue peace and reconciliation, forgiveness and grace, to bless instead of curse and
to overcome evil by doing good.
Father, help me not steal, cheat or be dishonest in any area of my life and to labor with
my own hands what is good so that I will have something to share with the one who has
Father, put a guard over my lips and let me not speak any unwholesome word that tears
down but instead let me speak a word that is good for edification using discernment and
wisdom according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who
hear. Let the meditation of my heart and the word of my mouth be pleasing to You, Oh
Holy Spirit of God, forgive me for grieving You, it is by You that I am sealed for the day
of redemption. You are my Helper, help me not to resist You in any way when You are
giving me reproof, correction or training in righteousness, instead, help me to submit
and surrender my mind, will and emotions to Your Sovereign Authority and leading in my
Father, I will put away all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor and slander along with all
malice from me, help me instead to be tender-hearted and kind and always willing to
forgive just as You, my God, have forgiven me in Christ Jesus.

Chapter 5

Father, I want to imitate You as a beloved child of Yours and to love, just as Christ also
loved me and gave Himself up for me as an offering and a sacrifice and as a fragrant
aroma to You, Oh God.
Father, keep my feet from immorality, impurity or any form of greed, let it not be
attached to my name or reputation as is proper amongst Your saints. Keep me from all
filthiness, silly talk and course jesting, which I know are not fitting but instead help me to
have a worshipful heart always giving thanks to You.
Father, Give me a holy fear that knows for certainty that no immoral or impure person or
covetous man, who is an idolater has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
Lord, don’t let me be deceived by empty words for I know that because of these things
Your wrath comes upon the sons of disobedience and I choose not to be a partaker with
them because although I was once in darkness, I am now in the light in You, Lord, so
help me to walk as Your child of light in all goodness, righteousness and truth, always
trying to learn what is pleasing to You, Lord.
I will not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead exposing them
because it is disgraceful even to speak of things which are done by them in secret. I
know that all things become visible when they are exposed by the light and everything
that becomes visible is light. Awake me from my sleep Oh Lord, raise me from my dead
works and shine the light of Christ in me!
Lord, I will be careful how I walk, not as an unwise man but instead as wise, making the
most of my time because I know that the days are evil. Help me not to be foolish Lord,
grant me now the understanding of what Your will is in this moment of my life and in
every situation.
Father, let me not be drunk with wine, wether it be in any form of alcohol or of the cares
of this world, but instead fill me with Your Spirit that I may speak to my brothers and
sisters in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in my heart to
You, Oh Lord, and I will always give thanks for all things in the Name of my Lord Jesus
Christ unto You Oh God my Father.
Father, grant me the meekness and humility in Christ to be subject to my brothers and
sisters in the fear of Christ. In my marriage I pray that You would give my wife the grace
to be subject to me as unto to You, Lord, even as You are the head of the church and
the Savior of the body. Grant her the spiritual revelation, knowledge and understanding
of Your deep love for her so that Your perfect love would cast out all her fears and
deliver her from every evil.
Father, as a husband, I ask that You would grant me the grace, power and ability to love
my wife just as Christ also loved the church and gave himself up for her, so that He
might sanctify her having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word that He
might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any
such thing but that she would be holy and blameless.
Father God, help me to love my wife as my own body, because I know by loving my own
wife, I love myself. Help me to nourish and cherish her just as Christ also does the
church because I am a member of His body along with all the saints in Christ.. And if
there is anything that I am still clinging to in regards to my mother and father that has
not allowed me to cleave to my wife, I ask You to remove it from me that I may become
wholly one flesh with her that it may reflect the great mystery of Christ and the church.
Father, help me to obey Your commandment to love my wife as myself and grant her the
grace and humility to respect me in return.
Chapter 6
Father, I pray that my children would have a heart of obedience in You, Lord and they
would know and understand that it is the right thing to do so that all would go well with
them and that my children would live long on the earth as promised in Your
Father God, help me to be a father who does not provoke my children to anger, but
instead grant me the grace and power of Your Holy Spirit to bring them up in the
discipline and instruction of You, oh Lord!
Father, as a bondservant to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I will be obedient to my
employer, boss, supervisor and anyone whom You have put in authority over me with
fear and trembling, in the sincerity of my heart as to Christ and not with eye-service, as
a man pleaser, but as a slave to Christ, doing Your will from my heart. Help me to to do
it with good will, rendering service as unto the Lord Jesus and not to men because I
know that You are both their Master as You are mine in heaven and there is no partiality
with You.
Father God, help me to be strong in Jesus and the strength of His might. I put on Your
full armor that You have given me to be able to stand firm against the schemes of the
devil. I know that my struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,
against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces
of wickedness in the heavenly places.
So today I take up Your full armor, oh God, so that I will be able to resist in the evil day,
and having done everything, I will stand firm, girding my loins with Truth, and putting on
the breastplate of righteousness, I shod my feet with the the preparation of the Gospel
of Peace, in addition to all this, I take up the shield of faith by which I will be able to
extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And finally I take and put on the helmet
of salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word, oh God!
Father, with all prayer and petitions, I will pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in
view, I will be alert with all perseverance and petition for all my brothers and sisters in
Christ, and also for myself that we may be given utterance in the opening of our mouths,
to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, for which we are ambassadors
in covenant that in proclaiming it we may speak boldly as we ought to speak!
Father, I ask in Jesus Name, for peace and love with faith that comes from You and the
Lord Jesus Christ to be granted to me and my brothers and sisters in Christ and for Your
grace to be with us as we love Your son Jesus with incorruptible love – Hallelujah, thank
You Father, Son and Holy Spirit- Amen!
