Father, I thank You for the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be
sprinkled with His blood that because of His obedience to You, I can experience Your
grace and peace in the fullest measure.
I thank You that according to Your great mercy you have caused me to be born again
to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and to obtain an
inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, that is reserved
in heaven for me and that I am protected by the power of God through faith for a
salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
I address You as my Father, the One who impartially judges according to each one’s
work, help me to conduct myself in fear during the time of my stay here on earth. I
thank You that I was not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from my
futile way of life inherited from my forefathers, but instead, with precious blood, as of a
lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. Thank You that He was foreknown
before the foundation of the world, and has appeared in these last times for my sake
and the sake of all my brothers and sisters who through Him are believers in God,
whom You raised from the dead and gave Him glory, so that our faith and hope are in
You Father God.
Thank You that I have been born again not of seed which is perishable but
imperishable through the living and enduring word of God.
Thank You that I am a member of a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a
people for God’s own possession, so that I may proclaim the Your excellencies
because You have called me out of darkness into Your marvelous light. I am so very
thankful my Father because I know that I was once not a part of Your people, but now I
am a part of the people of God and I had once not received mercy, but now I have
received mercy.
Father, I thank You that Jesus Himself bore my sins in His body on the cross, so that I
might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds I was and am healed.
Father, I was continually a straying sheep, but now I have returned to You, the
Shepherd and Guardian of my soul.
I thank You that baptism now saves me—not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an
an appeal to You Father God for a good conscience—through the resurrection of Jesus
Christ, who is at Your right hand now having gone into heaven, after angels and
authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.
Thank You Father that if and when I am reviled for the name of Christ, I am blessed,
because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on me and if I should suffer according to
the will of God, I shall entrust my soul to You my faithful Creator in doing what is right.
Prayers of thankfulness through 1 Peter
I will humble myself under Your mighty hand that You may exalt me at the proper time,
casting all my anxiety on You, because You care for me.
Father, I resist the adversary, the devil who prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking
someone to devour by standing firm in my faith, knowing that the same experiences of
suffering are being accomplished by my brethren who are in the world and after I have
suffered for a little while, I know that You Father, the God of all grace, who called me to
Your eternal glory in Christ, will Yourself, perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish me.
To You Father be the glory, dominion and power forever and ever. Amen.
